Rising Star of the Week
Dylan Cordell
"Dylan Cordell is a 1st grader at Summit Elementary. At the beginning of the school year he was struggling with reading. After starting a special reading program he is really improving. His first report card reflected all his hard work.
A couple of years ago Dylan attended Kid City summer camp. When the time came for him to put on a performance onstage he was scared and decided he didn't want to do it. Last Friday night we attended Jenn Cristy's CD release party for Hotel Confessions at Buskirk Chumley. Dylan was feeling the music and started to dance. Once Jenn saw him she invited him onstage to dance while she played. He didn't hesitate. We are so proud of Dylan and the young man that he is becoming. He has overcome learning issues and his fears. I can only imagine the young man he will grow into. From his Mom, Dad and big sister Shelby (who was B97's very first Rising Star of the Week) congratulations and we love you!
