Wonders of Nature

Every Saturday 2PM-2:45 PM

Program Description: Have you ever wondered why dirt comes in different colors? What about why the sky is blue? If so, come and explore high and low at WonderLab’s newest program: Wonders of Nature! Based in the WonderGarden, we will learn how how everything in nature is connected. We will fly like the red-tail hawk, tunnel through dirt like the earthworms, and our knowledge of the outdoors will grow like the seeds we plant! Learning will take place in the form of hands-on exploration, active games, and creative, natural, crafts. Held in the WonderGarden (Rain or shine! Tent will be set up if raining. Cancellation dependent upon storms) Ticketed but FREE with museum admission.

STEM Sunday

Every Sunday 1:30 PM-4:30 PM

Program Description: STEM Sunday is a free, drop-in, challenge-based experience that encourages families to engage in the engineering and design process. Emphasis is on this process rather than the product. Projects are not “take-home”, but may include a take-home element. A simple goal/design challenge is introduced to guide the process and encourage engagement. Projects are “easy entry” for all ages, meaning that specialized skills are not generally needed and children as young as kindergarten can participate. Projects use simple, inexpensive materials, emphasizing that families can easily re-create the project at home.

Deep Diver

Wednesdays 5 PM-5:30 PM

Program Description:Join marine biologist Sam Couch to dive deeper into the science of our new coral reef. These 30 minute talks will feature hands-on elements, tours of our coral reef aquarium, insight from an expert, and time for questions. Each phase of the reef will have a different talk topic. Themes vary by month. Free with museum admission.
