Help seniors remain in their homes as a volunteer for the annual Safe At Home Blitz - sponsored by the Area 10 Agency on Aging on October 27th in Monroe and Owen County.

Both skilled and non-skilled volunteers are needed to make this event a success.

Skilled volunteers will install grab bars, handrails, elevated toilet seats, gutters, and carbon monoxide detectors.

Non-skilled individuals are needed for disassembling and hauling off home and yard debris, raking leaves, and cleaning gutters.

This half day event starts with a kick off breakfast in Monroe County at Bell Trace Health and Living Center and in Owen County at the Owen Valley Health Campus.

After breakfast - Blitz volunteers will head out to their assigned locations to make safety and accessibility retrofits in the homes of seniors.

Skilled volunteers are requested to register by Sept. 21 to better match their skills with projects needed.
