Salvation Army

Every day, The Salvation Army recieves hundreds of pounds of donated goods: clothing, furniture, electronics, art, jewelry and more.

Your help is needed to help Salvation Army staff to recieve, sort, and hang these donated items and assist in making the store an attractive destination for customers.

Every year, the Salvation Army saves thousands of pounds of materials from ending up in the landfill by selling what is good to the public at low prices.

Those funds are used to support The Salvation Army's case management programs, empoyment programs, food pantry and financial assistance program - that support working families, the hungry, and the sick in our community.

Put your sorting and merchandising skills to good use with the worthwhile opportunity to someone's trash into treasure in need in our community.

LifeDesigns

LifeDesigns is a nonprofit that partners with people of all ages and abilities to lead meaningful and active lives. Their LIFE Enrichment Community Opportunities Program is a 100% community-based education program, designed to be an alternative to traditional facility-based programs. Individuals interested in volunteering to share their skills or talents, such as cooking, dancing, or jewelry making, are invited to host their own class for LifeDesigns customers once a week for at least a semester. Individuals can also encourage meaningful participation by customers in classes that are already scheduled. Especially needed are volunteers from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the YMCA to play basketball or excercise with customers. An interview, orientation and training, and background check are required.
