Hog Roast & Car Show

     Saturday August 27th from 11 am-4pm, Perry Clear Creek Fire Department will be having a hog roast and car show! There will be kids activities, bounce houses, sit in fire trucks, police cars and an ambulence and an air evac lifeteam will have a medical helicopter.

     Donations will be accepted for Smithville Food Pantry and their Clothe-a-Child program. They will also be accepting nonperishable food items. It will be $15 to enter a vehicle.

     There will be something fun for everyone of all ages, so bring the while family out!


Bloomington PRIDE Summerfest

Bloomington PRIDE Summerfest is this Saturday on Kirkwood Avenue! From 2-11pm there will be live performances, activities, music, workshops, food and drink, and dancing at Bloomington's gay pride festival. It's free to attend and there's stuff for people of all ages to do. Come to party, celebrate, and have fun with thousands of queer people and allies in the heart of downtown Bloomington. 2016 Bloomington Out of the Darkness Walk

Suicide in Indiana is;

  • The 3rd leading cause of death for 10-14 year olds.
  • The 1st leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds.
  • 55,000 youth in Indiana are thinking of suicide in any 2 week period.
  • A youth in Indiana dies by suicide approximately every 4 days.
  • According to the CDC, 17.2% of Indiana teens have considered suicide as compared to the national average of 13.8%.


The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with depressive illnesses and those impacted by suicide.


The 2016 Bloomington Out of Darkness will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Indiana University Memorial Stadium. Their goal is to have 500 participants and to raise $20,000.
