Music has a wide range of benefits to children:  learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas.  Music benefits language development, fine motor skills, and spacial temporal skills.  Music can also teach many valuable life skills such as dicipline while it also gives a child a positive outlook on life and a skill they can be proud of. 

This holiday season, B97 is partnering with  GuitarWorks, Musician's Repair and Sales, and Stafford Music Academy to give the gift of music to fifteen youth in our community.  Instruments for the campaign are provided by GuitarWorks in Greenwood, IN and Musician's Repair and Sales in Indianapolis, IN.  The selection includes new and used/refurbished instruments:  acoustic guitar, violin, viola, trumpet, clarinet, trombone,  and flute.  Winners will also receive instruction books and 6 months of lessons from Stafford Music Academy in Bloomington, IN.  Thank you to our supporting sponsors: Rapid Roofing & Restoration and Coghlan Orthodontics.  

Music truely is the gift that keeps on giving.  Help bless a child who may otherwise not have the opportunity to receive and learn a new instrument by submitting your nomination. The winners will be notified in advance and instruments will be handed out during a special event at Stafford Music Academy.
